10 questions about a Rhinoplasty

Are you interested in a Rhinoplasty and want to know a bit more information before going under the knife? Here are some answers to those questions you have trapped in that inquiring mind of yours!

1. Can I get a Rhinoplasty if I have a cold?

You should not undergo a surgery if you have a cold. Swelling of the nasal passages can cause complications during the procedure. It is best you postpone your procedure and wait until you are healthy.

2. Can I get a Rhinoplasty if I am pregnant?

You should not undergo any surgery while you are pregnant. To do so would put your unborn child at risk.

3.Can I shower after a Rhinoplasty?

You can shower the day after your surgery as long as you avoid getting your packing wet. You should use warm water instead of hot to increase swelling to the nose.

4. When can I exercise after a Rhinoplasty?

You should wait a minimum of three to six weeks to start your routine workout to avoid any damage to your new nose.

5. When can I drink after a Rhinoplasty?

You can consume alcohol once you are no longer taking your medications for your Rhinoplasty.

6.When will I be able to breathe through my nose after my Rhinoplasty?

Breathing through your nose after a Rhinoplasty becomes easier after one week of surgery. Patients who undergo a combination Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty should find nasal breathing between one to two months.
